Wow Neil,
We live in such different worlds…. When did we grow up? :-)
Your pictures are amazing! What a treat to really experience a different lifstyle. We truly are blessed having been born in a democratic society where people have the means to get ahead; where people can break through the class stucture, and not live under the oppression of a totalitarian government.

Fuck yourself you terroist horn!

Your pictures are wonderful…
I am putting together a web site for an orphange in Nepal, and was wondering if I might use some of your pictures to show Nepal to Americans.
Please email me if this is an option
Thanks

As nearly all my pictures are of Maoists, I would be interested to see which ones you would be using for your orphanage website. Let me know.

The pictures that first caught my attention we primarily those that showed the countryside, although some of your pictures of people were quite telling.
In particular the pictures that stood out to me were
0035,0056,0105,0080,0044,0118,0112,0270,0090
Also I’m afraid my earlier post may have been a little misleading. The web site I am developing is for a Christian ministry that is a combination of churches and an orphanage. I bring this up because given the current religious climate of the country, I don’t know if a Christian ministry might create any sort of conflict for you.
What I am looking for at present are pictures that could show Americans who visit the site what the country of Nepal looks like. I wish to avoid the civil war as much as possible in the web site so to keep the focus on the ministry, but I do want to mention the Maoist, and the peace talks as a point to pray for.

0035 is a Maoist cultural squad member showing off a keyboard that was held together with electrical tape.
0056 is a girl watching the PLA march by.
0105 (if you look closely) is the Banner of a Maoist checkpoint
The blue dots in 0080 are umbrellas of the PLA Basanta Memorial Brigade running down a hill in the rain.
0044 is very obviously a female guerrilla.
0118 is the Maoist checkpoint again
0112 is Birenthanti, and so far the only one that doesn’t have any Maoists in it.
0090 is up for grabs, thats just some people playing Cricket in the street.
Definitely don’t use the one above it (0079) Because thats Krishna’s family and he runs his own non-profit. He might not want someone using a picture of his family to promote another non-profit.
Now, I don’t have any problems with you using the photos of Maoist to promote your ministry as long as you do the following.
A. Make it clear that they are indeed Maoists.
B. Attribute the photo to me
C. Make it clear that I’m not associated with you.
While it might be delightfully ironic, I don’t want photos of Maoists combatants used for unattributed “friendly people” shots. I also don’t particularly want either the Maoists or the Hindu fundamentalists thinking I’m actively promoting Christianity here. So, just remember the above 3 things and that 0270 and 0079 are definately off limits, and you can post away.
Oh, and make sure and give me a link to your site if you use them.

Thank you, and I will certainly abide by your wishes. At this point the web site is still in the developmental stages, so I’m still not sure exactly how it is all going to fit together, and what will or will not be used, but once we get a little further in the process, I’ll let you know if anything is being used, and make sure you get a chance to look it over and make sure it meets with your approval.
Thanks again
